Before you print: Check the whole image at 100% methodical for errors (sensor marks etc).

Test one thing at a time.

– Size: Your relationship to the scale of the print.

– Print in full size (ideally on the final paper but if unsure then first use the cheap one).

– Look at translation from screen to print (globally: warmer/cooler, harder/softer, nearer/further, sharper/softer, saturation)

– Mark up what needs to be changed locally.

– Step-by-step go through those marks.

– Global sharpness / clarity / spacial definition (screen with its high contrast looks sharper than print on rag paper): test strips with different amounts of sharpening.

– Test prints on good paper.

– Print on good paper full size (don't look at it again – it's done).
