WEEK 11: GROUP CRIT
Hi Margit,
Thank you for posting these.
This is a very fascinating project.
The use of clothing/costume/fashion with the photographic prints of architectural exteriors, other bodies and beach landscapes on them, brings up many interesting ideas about the relationship of the body to urban space and architecture, wearing of memories and the performance of the self in public.
The work of Zoe Croggan would be worth researching regarding her interest in the body's relationship to architecture and space using photography, collage, and abstraction.
The metaphor of skins and layers worn by the figures also opens interesting dialogues with memory and photography, memory and the body, the ageing and performative body and seems to me to have the potential to challenges normative stereotypes to do with age and gender.
This concept is a wonderful framework to explore your interest in memory, intimacy, fashion photography, notions of beauty and identity.
I am interested to know more about the project and your intentions and ideas.
I also think of other artists who work with clothing and costume such as Sonia Delaunay, Andrea Zittel, Lyndal Walker (scarves).
and crossovers with art and fashion such as Victor and Rolf, BLESS, Bernhard Willem and Jutta Krauss, Richard Prince for Marc Jacobs
I can't wait to see the shoot and hear more about this project.
